Nyongbyon Silk Mill, founded in August Juche 37 (1948), produces mainly silk fabrics.
Such products as polychromatic silk, yaksandan (figured satin) and foulard with designs of flowerings, clouds, azaleas, roses, cranes and etc., were highly appreciated at international trade fairs held in several countries.
In conformity with the development trend of silk fabrics, the factory is now producing a wider variety of fabrics, including silk-ramie cloth, combined coloured cloth of natural silk and tetron, glossy tetron-ramie cloth, tetron-yaksandan, as well as CDP damask and silver-threaded polychromatic silk by using tetron yarn instead of silk, thus earning tangible profit.
It is exerting continuous efforts into diversifying products in kind and style and improving their quality, and is conducting technical exchanges and trading activities with foreign counterparts based on the credit-first principle.
